Covington Elementary School to Host
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrollment
Covington Elementary School will be enrolling new students for the 2026-2027 school year on:
Friday, May 1st from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
in the Elementary Conference Room
This enrollment is only for new students. If your child is already attending Pre-K, there is no need to enroll for Kindergarten.
To be eligible for pre-kindergarten:
- A child must be at least four years old on or before September 1, 2026
- Difficulty with English comprehension/speaking
- Household income qualifies for the National School Lunch Program
- Must fit the homelessness clause under McKinney-Vento Act
- Military Families
- Foster Care
- Incarcerated Parents
Any other students that do not qualify will not be approved until August.
To be eligible for the kindergarten program, a child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2026.
When enrolling, both pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, students must have:
- Proof of residency (driver’s license or utility bill)
- A certified copy of your child’s Birth Certificate
- Up-to-date immunization record
- Social Security Card.
- Enrolling Parent ID
- Proof of Income (Pre-K Only)
If any parents or guardians are unable to attend the pre-registration on the above date, they are requested to contact the school at (254) 854-2215 ext. 1011 so that necessary information concerning students may be provided to them.
